Camp

CAMP

Camp has just flown past. First minute we are at camp and then suddenly we are back a school!!!
Since we have 75 or is it 73? Anyway we have a lot of kids. Our class was split into separate groups. I was in the best team which was Seagulls. In my group I had Nevaeh, Nathan, Jay, Lucy, Laura, Mia, Brady, Jesse S, me (of course) And Charlie.
Seagulls first activity was Kayaking and I was real excited. When we had finally gotten into the estuary and begun to kayak I realised I was not as good as I thought I was! Instead, I kept getting pulled back to shore and at one point I was thinking about staying there and waiting for the others to come back and fetch me. After the not so great kayaking we were able to go on one of the best activities yet. Wait for it, wait for it... It was the water slide! Now some of the people in our group were a bit scared to go on it and that is totally fine but since I am a man I was the first girl to go on the slide. It was so cold and I felt like I would fly off! Eventually the scaredy cats had a go and guess what! They kept going on again and again and again! Finally it was night time and we got to play spotlight at 8.00 PM sharp! It was such a great time!
After spotlight we went to bed and my cabin were all giggling as quiet as possible. We gradually fell asleep and woke up at about 6.30 AM. After breakfast we all carried on with the activities. Since there were so many things to do I decided not to write about all of them.
Well that is all I have room for and I hope you enjoyed my story!

Stuck on an escalator... (you must watch it!!!)

                   Just get off the escalator!!!

Cross-Country Writing

                                           Cross-Country

Take your marks, get set... BANG!!! The wooden clappers bang and everyone is off. Run, run, run!!! That was all that mattered. Would I win? Nobody would know until the very end. Crunch. Sharp, pointy sticks stabbed themselves into my foot and I wanted to stop. No. I told myself. No stopping until the end! By now I had raced up the small but steep hill and to my surprise I was coming first! I just had to keep going. The other racers were not far behind and one girl was gaining on me. Go, go, go!!! Just keep running. I was down the big hill by now and I could hear everyone chanting, Go Kiri! Go Kiri! Go Kiri! On and on and on it went until I had finally accomplished my mission in finishing Hurupaki School Cross-Country!!!
